27 November 2010 Super X R 6 Parramatta (NSW)
TWIN TURBOS
Jake and Matt dominated the competition at the penultimate round of the Australasian Supercross Championship in Parramatta on Saturday.
Jake and Matt Moss took the honours in their respective classes, Jake’s consistency won him his first round for the season in a drama-filled Pro Open final, where the gruelling quad challenge format threw up four different winners.
Series leader Josh Hansen claimed the first of the four six-lap races, clearing away from a trio of riders, including Moss, who filled the next three positions.
In race two Jake battled Dan McCoy, Jay Marmont and Daniel Reardon with less than four seconds separating them at the end, with Jake claiming his second fourth position for the night.
Mackenzie and Hansen tangled for the lead in the third leg, with Jake breathing down their necks and pushing them to the end, before claiming third position. Jake showed his class in the fourth and final race, which became a three-way battle between he, Mackenzie and Marmont. The trio were within a bike’s length of each other for most of the race before Marmont came unstuck in the sand section. Mackenzie ran off the track on the same lap, allowing Jake to secure the lead and grab first position and the round win. His 81 point haul saw him further eat into the championship lead of Hansen and Marmont and set up a solid platform for a i podium position at next weekend’s series decider.
Jake “It was so awesome to get the win tonight especially with Matt winning too. I was riding really tight all night, but everything just came together for me in the final.”

Twin brother Matt was the dominant force in the Pro Lites event, which ran the unforgiving Survival format. The four-race event started with 20 riders, with the last five finishers in each leg dropping out of contention.
Matt dominated the first three races, finishing first in all. The final race – featuring the top five riders of the night – saw Team Rockstar Motul Suzuki teammates Matt and Lawson Bopping fight hard, with Moss taking the win and Bopping second. That win secured Matt the maximum 25 points on offer. Arch rival PJ Larsen suffered a DNF after bike troubles forced him to withdraw halfway through the final race. Matt’s dominant performance saw him reclaim the red plate and puts him in prime position to secure his third straight Pro Lites Super X championship in the final round at Brisbane next weekend.
Matt Moss “Tonight in Parramatta went great. I got some great starts and led every race except for that last one. I knew I just needed to keep smooth. It was great that Jake won here and I am just stoked with Team Rockstar Motul Suzuki. We’ve got one more round to go, we are five points in front so we just got to go there and do it next weekend.”
Jay Foreman – Team Manager
“This was a good weekend with a great result, which has made all the hard work worth it. It was a huge logistical effort to get the bikes back from New Zealand and ready for tonight so I am really happy with the result. “Matt is proving what a champion he is and he has clawed back the DNF to be in the championship lead with one round to go. He knows what he needs to do in Brisbane.
“For Jake, the last three weeks we have gone from third to second to a win. We knew with Jake we were always going to get better as the season went on. He now has a solid third position overall in the Open class and we are expecting a big weekend from him in Brisbane.”
The final round of the series will be held at QSAC stadium in Brisbane next Saturday December 4.
