July 6 2008 R 7 Rockstar Motocross Nations Lakes NSW
Matt Moss dominated Pro Lites in Round Seven of the Rockstar Energy Drink Motocross Nationals at Lake Macquarie (New South Wales) yesterday, 6 July,
Contesting just his second round of the 2008 championship after breaking his wrist in Round One, Moss was in sensational form.
Having qualified third on his Suzuki RM-Z250, Moss made a slow start to Moto One - which left him at the back of the pack - and fought back to finish second despite a mid-race crash, setting the fastest lap of the race by nearly a second in the process.
In Moto Two, Moss was unstoppable, leading from start to finish and taking victory by almost 10 seconds to win the round.
After such a long layoff, I'm thrilled to win my second round back.
"The RM-Z250 was great all day and gave me plenty of confidence to push hard and win the round.
"It's a big boost and things are looking good for the rest of the year.
"It was great to win for Suzuki and repay their support; they really stuck by me while I was injured.
"Hopefully we can get some more wins in the last two Motocross rounds and carry strong form into the Super X season."

"It was a fantastic weekend for the team and Suzuki, we were the most-consistent manufacturer in the three classes.
"I'm really pleased for Matt [Moss], to come back after an injury and ride like this is a huge credit to him and shows that he would have been a key player in Pro Lites this year if not for the injury.
"He never gave up in Moto One and was too good in Moto Two, even setting faster lap times than the top Pro Open riders.
